1) How did you get into InDev Solutions?
- At the BSU, one of my professors suggested to try an internship at InDev Solutions. It was back in September 2023, but the internship was planned only in February. Before the internship started, the future team lead and mentor gave me different tasks and topics to study, which helped me to be better prepared. And by February I was fully prepared to start the internship. I was immediately involved in a real project - website development. Under the guidance of my mentor, I performed small tasks that gradually became more and more complex and responsible.
2) How did you build your relationship with the team?
- I was very lucky with the team, I felt comfortable. By that time my classmate was already working in the company, which also helped. Although we were few in number and worked in the same office, there were a lot of open and friendly people there. They came up to me, introduced themselves and offered to help. Thanks to this I adapted very quickly.
3) How was the interview going?
- There were several of them. At the first interview, which was conducted by HR, they simply got to know me and found out about my preferences. At that time, I had not yet decided what I wanted to do – frontend or backend. Backend seemed clearer to me at university, but I was also interested in frontend. I was given test tasks to evaluate my skills and readiness to learn new things. By the way, these tasks helped not only the company, but also myself. Thanks to them, I realized what I liked more. At the second interview I finally decided that I wanted to be a frontend. After that, I received a list of literature to study, which I had to master by the start of the internship.
4) Did you make the right choice to be a frontend?
- Definitely, yes! Having worked in the company for quite some time, I was able to look at the tasks of both areas and became convinced that the frontend is more interesting to me. It is unpredictable, complex, and offers something new every time.
5) What advices would you give to young specialists who are now in search of themselves?
- Don't be afraid to try. Get over yourself, even if you are afraid or worried. Go to interviews so that if you are not hired, you can understand what you lacked, and if you are hired, you can start your journey. Don't be afraid to ask questions, read and study the right literature, watch training videos, try, try, and try again.
